Tickets to U2’s PopMart tour stop at Mile High Stadium May 1 go onsale at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The tour, billed as the biggest stadium extravaganza this season, willfeature the world’s largest TV screen (150 by 50 feet), a 100-foot high golden arch and a 35-foot high disco mirror ball shaped like a lemon. The Denvershow will be the third on the band’s U.S. leg to promote its new album, Pop, in stores March 4. In a press conference last week, the band saidthe show would include eight new songs from the album and a wide collection of the group’s older material.
It’s the Irish group’s first show in Denver since October 1992.
Tickets will cost $ 37.50 and $ 52.50, plus Ticketmaster service charges.There is a 10-ticket limit per person. Seats also can be purchased by phone at 830-8497.
Fans can buy tickets early through cable television. MTV and VH1 willsell tickets through the Tickets First program, which airs at 6 tonight. The music video channels will air a phone number that viewers can use topurchase choice seats.
