The Road to GoDUBLIN GIG SHOULD BE MADE EASY FOR U2 : VOICE OF THE MIRROR
Kansas City has proved the evergreen worldwide popularity of Dublin rockers U2.
Residents didn’t bat an eyelid when their freeway system was closed to let the band shoot their new video. The production gridlocked the city for 48 hours but three out of four citizens gave it the thumbs up.
They left their cars at home and took their binoculars to work to catch a glimpse of Bono,Larry, Adam and The Edge posing for the cameras.
Surely this puts into perspective the ludicrous situation in Dublin where U2 still await theofficial nod to stage their August show in the Phoenix Park.
Band manager Paul McGuinness says Dublin is the hardest place in the world to play.
If Kansas can shut all its motorways, surely Dublin can find a way round planning laws to let Irish fans see their idols play live in their own city.
