The Four Most Underrated U2 Videos Of All Time

Twenty years ago U2 released Achtung Baby, and even after two decades the band’s seventh studio album remains one of their most revered. Five different editions of the album were put on sale today to celebrate its 20th Anniversary, but with so much love for the eight-time platinum album, we couldn’t help but think of the rest of the group’s game-changing discs, songs and videos that often go unnoticed. (There’s more to U2′s videography than the sultry leather vests of “With or Without You,” after all.)

From war references and montages to truck-top concerts, here are the clips we think deserve a little more love:

1. Get On Your Boots






With flowing lava, carnival rides, ambiguous eggs and planes flying overhead, this one’s either the most lucid dream we’ve ever had or the craziest U2 video we’ve ever laid eyes on. The mix of imagery features everything from from women wearing mustaches and oddball war references to oversized legs sporting knee-high latex boots amidst a swirling sky, which is inspired by the concept of women taking control of the world because “men have fucked things up so badly, politically, economically, and socially.” Appearing on their 2009 album No Line on The Horizon, the song’s psychedelic mix of heavy guitar riffs and Iraq War references didn’t top the charts like their other big hits, but this tune’s insane video takes the cake.
