According to reports, U2 performed a stunning set to 2,000people at their "secret" show in London on Wednesday night (7February). Amongst the star-studded audience were Mick Jagger,Bob Geldof, snooker star Stephen Hendry, authors SalmonRushdie and Will Self, actor John Hurt, Chris Evans, Billie Piper,Ash, Massive Attack, All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis, Oasis,Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood, Kylie Minogue and Queen’s RogerTaylor. Speaking from the stage, Bono explained, "We’re doingthis ’cos we’re re-applying for the job. There’s a lot of peoplehere watching this that could probably say the same thing. Thatjob is the greatest band in the world !" The band played a setmade up largely of tracks from their latest album "All That YouCan’t Leave Behind", as well as several old favourites such as"11 O’Clock Tick Tock", "I Will Follow", "Desire", "All I Want IsYou", "Mysterious Ways" and "One". Bono dedicated new single"Stuck In A Moment (You Can1t Get Out Of)" to MichaelHutchence, saying, "We’ve made a lot of friends over the years -this is for one we’ve lost." The closing "Bad" was dedicated toBob Geldof. Tickets for the show were reportedly exchanginghands for 1,000 pounds outside the venue.
